Breitachklamm gorge in the summer

The Breitachklamm in the Kleinwalsertal valley

The Breitachklamm hike

Our premium excursion tip in the Kleinwalsertal valley is definitely a visit or a hike through the Breitachklamm gorge.

The Breitachklamm in the summer in the Kleinwalsertal valley is a fantastic place: rippling water, surrounded by abstract rock formations. The formation of today's Breitachklamm began with the water of the melting Breitach Glacier. On its way to the valley, over the years the water has eroded the Schrattenkalk formation of the Engenkopf and created the fascinating rock formations.
The Breitachklamm is a perfect excursion destination in the Kleinwalsertal valley for families. The entrance to the special world of the Breitachklamm is only a few minutes by car from Hirschegg. Thanks to the Rev. Johannes Schiebel, who made it possible for tourists and excursion guests to visit the Breitachklamm at the beginning of the 20th century, we can now marvel at the wonders of the Breitachklamm.

The Breitachklamm in the Kleinwalsertal valley is one of those special places. The impressive gorge is a very good excursion destination thanks to its well-developed paths. The steeper passages that make the walk into a real hike, are easy to bypass. And right at the beginning of the gorge in Tiefenbach there is an interactive exhibition with exciting information on the origin and habitat of the Breitachklamm.
